Ahhh memories. Vintage garments like a cute 50's full skirted frock can take you right back to a special moment in time . Remember the good old days when there were sock hops and soda shops? No? Me neither, but wearing vintage gives a girl the chance to experience a small part of history and stand out in the crowd, you know,  have a fashion mind of ones own? Yes ladies we too love american apparel but could you mix it up a bit? The line out side of middlesex looks like their web catalogue. Get a lil creative eh? What's even worse is the full on vintage attack! Head to toe vintage is for grammies, and nonis, and nanas, and all those other fancy words for old smelly lady. For this article we here at twolip mixed vintage with easy to get to, super cheap, buy it at your local mall pieces.

But okay kiddies, lets face it Vintage is just a fancy word for thrift shop finds put in a pretty lil shop. The only difference is getting to avoid the trudge through the minefields of moldy high-wasted jeans and grannylicious church sweaters. This is a skill  that takes patience, brovado, and the eye for a diamond in the ..well...yicky.  Twolip has seen it all on the vintage store front; the good, the bad, and the ridiculously expensive and so not worth it and we have compiled a list of the best local vintage joints for your enjoyment.

Circa, located in New Bedford, is a vintage lovers wet dream. Hat boxes piled to the ceiling, oodles of vintage sunglasses and rack after rack of sugary easter egg colored prom dresses from your mama's days make it impossible to leave without spending money you didn’t have to begin with. But trust me, there will be no regrets. Bring your latest boy toy with you he will love the mens sections, just the mass amount of mens belts alone with keep him entertained long enough for you to try on the entire stock of 1930's nighties. Here's a lil fun fact for you; you can see some of Circa's stuff on the big screen in the upcoming films "Ashecliff" and on HIllary duff in "Greta". Hey, if its good enough for the Duffster, its good enough for us.

While in the area check out Calico, a sweet lil spot featuring not only fabulous vintage finds but local designers as well. You can check them out online at shopcalico.com but stopping by their homestead is highly recommended. Circa has die hard followers and we have no doubt after an afternoon inside Circa’s dreamy walls that you will be as well.
